BobCAM for SolidWorks Plug-in Not Loading

If you are trying to register or load the BobCAM for SolidWorks plug-in, but it is not loading, or, if you try to enable the plug-in from the "Add-Ins..." menu in SolidWorks, but it keeps unchecking, please through the troubleshooting steps in the article.

1. Unregister BobCAM for SolidWorks

If you are coming from an older version of BobCAM for SolidWorks and you were wanting to uninstall a demo version of the software, you do not have to uninstall the Demo version. If you did already uninstall it, reinstall it and Follow through this article:

Switch Between Versions of BobCAM for SolidWorks

If you did uninstall, it should automatically unregister the software. However, depending on the security of the computer and other factors, this may not have taken place upon uninstall.

2. Do you have another CAM plugin installed into SolidWorks such as "SolidWorksCAM"?

Lots of CAM packages (like SolidWorks CAM) use ModuleWorks to generate some of their toolpaths. If these plugins are both enabled and share the same ModuleWorks dll, it will cause things to not load up properly. Disable to other CAM Plugins to not load on open and try having BobCAM open upon opening SolidWorks. You should then be prompted to register the license before SolidWorks fully opens up.

If this does not work, you may need to uninstall the other CAM plug-in completely and try re-installing BobCAD for SolidWorks after.

3. Did you run the installation as an Administrator when opening it?

Sometimes, the computer will block certain items from getting installed such as the necessary C++ files that need to be installed to run the software. If you run as Admin (Right-click on the install file and select "Run As Administrator") this should allow the installation to install properly.

4. Make sure you have all the neccasary C++ Redistributables

If step 5 fails to work, you can check these Redistributables manually to ensure they are installed on the computer. Review this article below:

5. Check Anti-Virus Software
