BobCAD V33 SP2 Released

 
The release of BobCAD V33 Service Pack 2 (Build 3871) includes corrections to the following areas of the software:
 

General Corrections

  • Corrected an issue which prevented a particular file from being saved as a .3dm file.
  • Corrected an issue in which prevented a Machining Cloud job with a special character in the name from opening.

 

CAD Corrections

  • Corrected an issue which caused text on a custom plane to move up in Z.
  • Corrected an issue which caused a crash if the Advanced Holes feature was selected with the TappingTable.XML file missing or renamed.
  • Corrected an issue which caused the state of the preview check box in the Align function to be mishandled when it was cleared, the function exited, and reentered. The preview would be shown even though the check box was still cleared.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented an angle dimension to be applied on certain geometries.
  • Corrected an issue which caused multiple Advanced Hole features in the CAD Tree to be combined when the CAD Tree was rebuilt.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented the pick by color function to select particular colors.
  • Corrected an issue which caused additional spaces between lettering on particular fonts.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented a particular file from being saved as an IGES, STEP, or 3DM.

 

CAM Corrections

General

  • Corrected an instance of a crash when resolving an imported Machining Cloud tool.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented pecking and fast pecking options from outputting the depth correctly for auto peck in the center drill operation.
  • Updated the Multiaxis Posting page to remove First Solution / Other Solution as these have been replaced by Solution Closest to 0 and Solution not Closest to 0.
  • Removed all holder associations from all tools in the default installed tool library.
  • Corrected an issue which caused a crash when attempting to read incomplete geometry from a machining cloud tool.

Probing

  • Corrected an issue which showed a spindle speed for probing operations in the Setup Sheet.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented the Apply to Document option in the settings dialog from affecting the Probing Machining Order being updated.

Mill Express

  • Corrected an issue which caused the depths of other groups in a hole feature to revert to the depth of the first group when computed.
  • Corrected an issue which caused the drag knife toolpath to create gouges on particular geometry.
  • Corrected an issue which caused parameters on a custom thread tool to revert to the default for that thread type.
  • Corrected an issue which caused a gap in toolpath with certain geometry.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented the Chain Start Point of a Profile Rough from being modified properly.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented stock orientation from being updated when an edge was selected to define the orientation.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented retracts from working with the Max Link Gap % in some cases when using the Zig pattern on a side roughing profile.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented a new group from showing as a selectable option in a thread feature.
  • Corrected an issue which caused drill tools with custom feeds and speeds set in the library to be set to zero when the file was reopened.
  • Corrected an issue which caused closing the Work Offset Pattern dialog with the X at the top right to reenter into the picking dialog if the picking dialog had been previously used.
  • Corrected an issue which caused the Final Contour of the Pocket operation to be handled as a separate operation by the Machining Sequence. The Machining Sequence no longer affects the order set in the Patterns of the Pocket operation.
  • Corrected an issue which caused custom geometry on a Mill Thread tool to preview incorrectly in the Tool Crib.
  • Corrected an issue which caused the wrong tool to be selected in the tool library when filtering was used.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented the entire value being highlighted when tabbing to Number of Passes in the Patterns page of the Profile Rough operation.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented a negative RPM value from outputting CCW spindle command.
  • Corrected an issue which caused an open chain when using an overlap amount on a profile.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented retracts between hole groups from being applied properly when changes to existing hole features would modify the existing hole groups.

Mill 3 Axis Standard

  • Corrected an issue which prevented proper toolpath on an open pocket in some instances.

Mill 3 Axis Pro

  • Corrected an issue which caused the default metric values of the Advanced Rough’s depth and stepover to be 6mm. This has been updated to default at 3mm.

Mill 3 Axis Premium

  • Corrected an issue which allowed users to select tools that did not work with the Steep Shallow operation. T-Cutters, Dove Mills, Lollipops, and Barrel Mill tools are now hidden from selection.
  • Corrected an issue which allowed users to select tools that did not work with the Multiaxis Roughing operation. T-Cutters, Dove Mills, Lollipops, and Chamfer Mill tools are now hidden from selection.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented the keyboard shortcuts which control the view from working when geometry selection dialogs were launched from the Multiaxis Wizard and the initial creation of the feature.

 

Lathe Corrections

  • Corrected an issue which caused the metric Constant Surface Speed to be unit converted unnecessarily.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented manually placed stl lathe tool models from being found in the …\Technology\ToolFile folder.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented system generated tools from having a label.
  • Corrected an issue which caused the chip break option to be shown in the groove operation.

 

Mill Turn Corrections

  • Corrected an issue which caused tools to be mounted to an adapter incorrectly when the turret base point was not at Y0.
  • Corrected an issue which caused pasted/loaded lathe features to retain the original job stock.
  • Corrected an issue which caused grooving tools imported in the tool library to be extruded in the wrong direction in the simulation.

 

Wire EDM Corrections

  • Corrected an issue with the wording of the options in the Machining Order dialog. The options were listed as Individual Feature, Individual Tool Per Machine Setup, and Individual Tool. These have been corrected to Individual Feature, By Operation Type, and By Sequence.

 

Simulation Corrections

Simulation Standard

  • Corrected an issue with several themes which caused a crash when clicking on the simulation tab while the simulation menu was hidden.

 

Posting Corrections

BCPst

  • Corrected an issue which showed the definitions of G18 and G19 being reversed in the posting documentation.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented end of operation blocks from being called after operations created by a toolpath pattern.
  • Corrected the default post processors so that mill jobs use the BC_3x_Mill.BcPst, Lathe jobs use the Single_Line.BcPst, and Mill Turn jobs use the BC_1T_1S.BcPst post. Also the Move List Coordinates of the Multiaxis Posting page all now default to Machine Compensation in Z only.
  • Corrected an issue which cause n_last_rough and n_last_finish to post incorrect line sequence numbers when the sequence increment is set to a value other than 1.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented a Turning Dwell from being output when the value was less than 1.
  • Corrected the output of MILL_GetArcAngleDegrees() so that it outputs the angle of arcs after they have been broken with post question 223.
  • Corrected an issue which caused the initial moves, prior to enabling TCP coordinates, to be output as TCP coordinates as well. New initial position posting variables were created to allow for the use of a different coordinate output modes than the given operations coordinate mode:

  • Corrected an issue which caused a crash when posting command/ISO while breaking arcs into quadrants.
  • Corrected an issue which prevented post question 218 from controlling the digits output for the program number.

 

NC Editor Corrections

Editor Standard

  • Corrected an issue which caused a crash when launching the NC Editor from a particular files posted code.

Editor Pro

  • Corrected an issue which caused double compensation to be applied when system and machine compensation were used.
