Why can I not open my SolidWorks 2008 Files
Some updates to your system may be needed download the attached file save it to your computer follow the instructions below.
1. Download 'File1' Extract the files to a folder then double click on the 'dotnetfx.exe' file to install the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.
(Follow the on-screen installation)
2. Download 'File2' Extract the files to a folder then double click on the 'WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe' file to install the Microsoft Installer 3.1.
(Follow the on-screen installation)
3. Download 'File3' Extract the files to a folder and double click on the 'vcredist_x86.exe' file to install the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable pack.
(Follow the on-screen installation)
4. Download 'File4' Extract the files to a folder and double click on the 'SWfix.bat' file to install the Solidworks shared files.
(This will install several windows updates and support files for Import)
